Converting Visitors into Subscribers
If a person visits your website and leaves, chances are that he
or she will not come back, especially if there are no compelling
reasons to do so. After all, we all behave rather impulsively on
the Internet, so much so that we can easily forget where we were
10 web pages ago.
But the bottom line is that your visitor may not come back to
your website again. If 1,000 visitors visit your website, leave
and never come back again, you can imagine the amount of
potential revenue lost, simply because they do not come back.
You could have converted a fraction of the visitors into your
customers.
Some may say that creating unique content can keep some of the
visitors coming back and it WILL keep them coming back. But the
ultimate long-term solution lies in converting your visitors
into subscribers of your mailing list.
Before your visitor leaves your website, you want to convert him
or her into your subscriber via a simple opt-in form - adding
them to your mailing list. You do this by asking for your
visitor’s name and email address in exchange for something of
value – hopefully related to your site!
And if your visitor signs up to be on your mailing list, you can
now follow up with them to help build their trust in you. Thus
getting your subscriber to consider your offer, or endorse
another offer to them.
At this point, you better know how to keep them reading your
messages and keep converting as many visitors into subscribers
as possible. This will allow you to obtain the potential revenue
you rightfully deserve – a subject for another article series.

What is the World Wide Web?
World Wide Web: computer network consisting of a collection
of Internet sites that offer text and graphics and sound and
animation resources through the HyperText Transfer Protocol
(HTTP).
We, Internet marketers, use the Web to get the
word out about our businesses. We must either create
Sites/pages detailing our businesses or use "company"
pages and send our interested readers to them hoping
they will like what they find. Therefore what we write
must be interesting and appealing with very little
distraction.
-
How do we "get the word out?
We create articles, ads, and smaller web
pages to place in various places throughout the Web.
It is highly recommended that the pages, usually splash
or lead capture pages, we use to bring people to our
sales pages, home pages, and company pages contain one
message to one market with one "call to action".
An article is a piece of nonfictional prose that
is an independent part of a publication such as ezines,
newspapers, magazines, blogs, a page on your site.
actually anywhere it will be a part of the particular
publication.
An ad is a short message that serves as a
"fishing lure " to get the readers attention conveying
one message to one market with one "call to action".

Keyword Density or
Keyword Stuffing?
Sometimes SEO experts
go too far in their desire to push their clients' sites
to top positions and resort to questionable practices,
like keyword stuffing.
Keyword stuffing is
considered an unethical practice because what you
actually do is use the keyword in question throughout
the text suspiciously often. Having in mind that the
recommended keyword density is from 3 to 7%, anything
above this, say 10% density starts to look very much
like keyword stuffing and it is likely that will not get
unnoticed by search engines.
A text with 10% keyword
density can hardly make sense, if read by a human. Some
time ago Google implemented the so called “Florida
Update” and essentially imposed a penalty for pages that
are keyword-stuffed and over-optimized in general.

Passion
The early days were tough, but my secret weapon
carried me through.
My passion for teaching others how to build pages and sites that
ranked well kept me on-track, and I have never looked back.
Back then, if I had let my doubts (or those of "friends" and
family) stop me from trying, I would probably be back in my old job
teaching science.
The moral of this story? Well I think you can work that one out for
yourself, but if you need a bit of help, here are my own
thoughts:
1. Age is not a barrier to starting an online business.
2. Believe in yourself, and follow your dream.
3. Don't let others put you off with their negativity. People will
often knock stuff they don't understand, and Internet Marketing is
one of those unknown areas for many people.
4. Following your passion can pull you through when times are tough.
5. Don't over-analyze. Just do it. |
Defining
Viral Marketing
Viral marketing is
unique and quite extraordinary. We share with friends
and family the bargains or freebies we were able to get.
If we can copy the freebie we will do it and give it to
people that we know. Everybody knows somebody and just
like rumors, these freebies can spread fast.
You can advertise your
newsletter, your web site, products you’re selling,
anything and you will make a profit if somebody clicks
through the advertising on the freebie. I will spare you
the details of why the same ad advertised through viral
marketing is so much more effective than regular
advertising.
It is a great feeling
when you receive something for free.
As you can see, viral
marketing is giving out free stuff and in turn, this
free stuff will be passed around to other people. What
better advertising could be accomplished in such a
simple manner?
The process is actually
very simple. All you have to do is find resources where
you can download free stuff, then turn around and give
it away to your visitors. There are numerous resources
where you can download the freebies. For example, you
may get started off by offering your visitors free
e-books and free software.
The software might cost
a substantial amount of money to develop, but in the
long run it’s a one time fee for a decent stream of
visitors. This is only one idea of many. You will find
that the options are endless. Find something your
visitors want and watch them roll on in!
In summary, Viral
Marketing by definition is any form of advertising
and/or marketing techniques that "spread" like a virus
without you having to do anything.
