Seniors for Seniors
I saw something while surfing
that really caught my eye.
Someone has caught on to capturing the seniors market by advertising a
program run by seniors for seniors.
Birthdays have a tendency to sneak up on all of us. And one
day, like it or not, we fit into that seniors bracket where time is of
the essence.
We're not 21 and capturing the attention of new marketers proclaiming
an instant cash grab because they were smarter than the average wannabe.
We're not loaded with ready cash we want to throw away on empty
promises. We know where every dollar in our bank accounts
came from, and we are NOT ready to simply throw it away on someone
else's false promises of hope.
While we may be considered overly cautious to some, we are very aware
of time. We don't have it to waste . We want to
know WIIFM [What's in it for me] to do business with you.
We are the BabyBoomers with needs. Do you have the solutions?
Are you taking a hard look at where your customers and subscribers are
coming from? Do you have any idea what percentage of them are
seniors?
Are you meeting their needs?
If you have not taken the time to look at your subscriber base before
this, it may be time to do so now.
Read on and enjoy ...
Onwards and upwards ...

Diffusing Horror Tales of the White 'Telephant'
When you first came into online marketing, it was probably because of
someone you knew explaining what their business was all about.
If you know the person, it stands to reason that you will have an
easier conversation and possible lead conversion.
But what if you do not know your new leads? Do you
know how to talk to people you have never met?
You were born talking. No matter that your first form of
communication was the desperate cry of a greedily hungry
baby.
You knew how to get your way. Your mom and you built a form
of
trust relationship that one would ask and one would give.
While that is relationship building at its best, it has not
changed much in context with what you will be doing
today. You will still be in the asking mode and your
prospect will still be in the giving mode IF you have taken the time to
build a common grounds.
The best way to talk to people is to ask open ended questions so that
you know enough to shut up, turn on the listening skills and let them
do the talking.
People love to talk about themselves. They count but seldom
does
anyone ask them how they are and really take the time to allow them to
answer. You have the name and the telephone number, let them
fill
in the blanks.
Finding out if you live close to one another now or in the past, that
you might have attended the same schools, have mutual friends, like the
same things. ALL of these seemingly innocuous responses are
powerful trust builders. Maybe they are a world traveler, a
Forces child, been places seen things, done things you both can
relate to.
It helps create the mind set of your new found prospect whose first
question will always be "How do I know if the information you are
giving me is trustworthy and
reliable?"
What if you find out you both have belonged to the same programs in the
past or even currently? Now you really have fair game to
discuss.
Building a trust relationship begins with knowing how to talk to
people. With a little thought, I am sure you will do just
fine.

The Trouble
With Disclaimers
"This email is in compliance
with the new CAN-SPAM act of December,
2003. You are believed to be someone interested in making money online
or we have exchanged emails in the past, or have been part of the same
organization or downline. If you wish to be removed, please reply with
the REMOVE in the subject line."
You're sure you have never met this person who signs at the bottom of
the e-mail but with all the programs you have belonged to, how can you
be sure you have not met or dealt with them before?
The major way to tell is they DID NOT supply you with your
contact information of the program you have shared in the
past.
It MUST appear at the bottom of all mails you receive and all mails you
send out. Otherwise you or the sender are open to charges of
spamming.
Whether it is CAN SPAM, which is American, or any other quoted form of
service that EVERY country now has, the basic requirement is
full
disclosure of your name, address and contact information AND the full
contact information you should have kept on record of any contact you
have made in the past.
This is your responsibility to keep good records. If you are
ever
charged as a spammer, then you will fully realize the importance of
good record keeping. Those records may be your only chance to
prove you did not spam some complainer.
If you are scared to give out your real address, then get a mail box at
your local post office. But you MUST supply one or the other.
For good measure, even if it is a team member or someone you think you
know well enough to approach, give them a link to your ABOUT US page
and let them decide the full measure of a spamming charge.
Traffic to your web page is how you build your contact list. It is also
how you get ranked by search engines. It may also provide a
good
reason for a spam-happy personality to change their mind and remember
you.
Also, make sure your headline tells them who it is from.
Nothing
beats a great informative headline to create enough interest to read
your mail.
Above all, remember, good records supply contact information - use it
in your mails and do NOT spam people you have not earned the
right to connect with.

If you are not using

you are leaving yourself open to far more security risks then are

The Dangerous
'Secret' - Shhhh! Don't Tell! We Got Bugs!
ANY application contains 'bug's or weak spots, from its moment of
conception. That is why developers use beta testing either
before
releasing or during initial releases of any application.
Application vulnerabilities are an accepted condition that any good
company and developer work round the clock to eliminate, or close up
the 'weak' spots for your safe use.
Report a condition you experience and make it safe for your computer
and surfing the net, to the proper authorities and they will get right
on it. Another good reason to use FireFox for added security.
Meantime, use professional versions of anti-virus and anti-spyware
protection programs and KEEP THEM UPDATED DAILY.

Browser
Plug-ins Make the Net World Go Round ...
or they can wreck it big time!
Lazy is as lazy does and pays the piper for blind acceptance.
Never is this more true than in automatically installing a plug-in
because it is there and will automate some of your daily
security/actions.
In December of 2008, Mozilla reported a rogue plug-in that was being
added to browsers that was supposed to be Mozilla approved.
Johnathan Nightingale blogged about it here: http://blog.johnath.com/2008/12/08/firefox-malware/
Issue
A malicious piece of software masquerading as a legitimate and popular
Firefox plug-in is spreading. Trojan.PWS.ChromeInject.A
collects a
user’s passwords from banking and other sites and forwards
them
to a remote server.
Impact
If a user has been tricked into installing this plug-in, or had it
installed through a separate vulnerability it may compromise passwords
and the user’s accounts. This trojan is not
Greasemonkey,
even though it uses some of Greasemonkey’s internal IDs.
Status
To check whether your computer is infected, look for “Basic
Example Plug-in for Mozilla” in the Plug-in list by choosing
Add-ons from the Tools menu in Firefox. Then choose Plugins.
If
you see this plug-in, disable it.

Men Are Just Happier People-- What do you expect from such simple creatures? Your last name stays put. The garage is all yours. Wedding plans take care of themselves. Chocolate is just another snack. You can never be pregnant. You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park. You can wear NO shirt to a water park. Car mechanics tell you the truth. The world is your urinal. You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt. Same work, more pay. Wrinkles add character. Wedding dress $5000+ Tux rental-$100. People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet. One mood all the time. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds! Flat. You know stuff about tanks. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase. You can open all your own jars. You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness. If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend. Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough. You almost never have strap problems in public. You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes. Everything on your face stays its original color. The same hair style lasts for years, maybe decades. You only have to shave your face and neck. You can play with toys all your life. One wallet and one pair of shoes -- one color for all seasons. You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look. You can 'do' your nails with a pocket knife You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache... You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.
No wonder men are happier.
