OK - 2008 is now history and its time to stop the whine and blame games.  Its entirely up to you to make something happen in 2009 - whine and cheese dip along with doing the same thing you did last year will yield the same miserable results.

In 2009, let's remember you cannot expect to make a profit with doing the same 'ole things (aka nothing) and make any cash.  It takes monies as well as your time to make a business run and the sooner you realize that, the quicker your dismal 2008 loss will turn into a divine 2009!

   You're checking out different sites on the web and have found a couple that you are interested in. So, you fill in your name and address and pass along some pertinent contact information. You continue searching over sites and all of a sudden, your IM alerts you that so-and-so is calling you.

   The rules of etiquette dictate that you answer the call in a polite manner and see what this person wants to talk to you  about.   For the internet marketer,
 Ever Wonder Why You Get Hung Up On?

   Over the last few years telephone solicitation has gone out of control. People are consistently hounded by supposedly well meaning salespersons who start out delicately offering a product or service and continue on until they are shoving their offer down your throat with both fists.

After a few of these, a mild tempered person morphs into a creature from the black lagoon. What part of the word, "No, "don't you understand?" "No, thank you", has already been said three times, and you are not listening. Finally, there is no other recourse but to just hang up. And these hard feelings spill over onto the internet marketing scene.

   A marketer's enthusiasm can be his own worst enemy because he has no clue what his prospect is or has been going through. So, what is a good way to approach someone who MIGHT be interested in what you have to offer?
  Let's listen in on a call----

  Prospect--"Hello"
  Marketer--"Hello"
  Prospect---"Who are you?"
  Marketer---" MY name is John Sell it right. I am calling you
                    because you filled out the information form on my
                    website at Product 4u."
Prospect---" I don't recall that"
 Marketer---" Gee, you might have just been browsing. Do you
                    mind if I send you some further information? I have
                    your e-mail address as prospect@hotmail.com. That
                    way you can refresh your memory and decide if you
                    are still interested. If so, we can talk further about
                    what your plans are for making money online."
 Prospect---" That would be fine, and yes, that is my e-mail"
 Marketer---" Thank you so much for your time and answering
                    my call. I will send you that email out today. Please
                    watch for Information from Product4u in your inbox.
                    May I call you again in a couple of days?'
  Prospect---" OK"
  Marketer---" It was sure nice to meet you. I will let you get back to your browsing. I will call you in a couple of days.
Bye bye now"

    There was nothing offensive about this call. Short, sweet and not at all pushy. Even the creature from the black lagoon couldn't be annoyed with this kind of call.  And, even if there is no way to call your prospect, that first contact should be short and sweet.
 
    Should You Call Someone On The Telephone?

  This is a controversial question. Some say, "yes" and others say, "no."  Let's look at the scenario.

  You have a product or service you want us to invest in with you. Only the uneducated buy without touching, looking and asking questions. Not only that, people come on the net to make money, not spend it! If they didn't need an income, they wouldn't be here.

  But, the consumer has a lot of choices. The decisions are difficult. We don't have a clue who you are, and we try to find that out by looking at what you are trying to flog us.

  So, maybe it is a good idea if you tell us about yourself. And give us something to hold on to. If I can relate to you, I might like to work with you.

And I may be doing this on my own. You see, Internet Marketing has gotten a very bad reputation. When we tell family and friends that we are going to try this, we don't meet positive attitudes. The barrage of clichés is thrown at us trying to discourage us.

  So, send me an e-mail with your information so I can do my checking.

  The Millionaire Mindset.

  Most of us know how people like this work. The old warning states that self made millionaires got that way by stepping on others and leaving them in a pile of rubble.
Your trinkets are things that lead me to be lazy so I don't have to work and learn. You show me big toys and don't show me how to get them or keep them. You appeal to my greed, not my need. You tell me I am important and valuable, and appeal to my pride. And then you lay before me a bag of garbage that says I don't have to do anything to make an income with you. Lottery tickets are cheap and some win and most don't. The odds are stacked against me with
lotteries. And so is this game on the internet.

  Yet, there is a path that most don't want to take and few find. It takes learning and dedication. It also takes time.  

In your next e-mail to me, I will be looking for a way to check you out. I will Google your name and  your business. I will type in scams and see what comes up.

So, be honest with me from the start. Tell me how you failed and had to claw your way back up. Tell me how you learned NOT to give me something valueless and overworked to flog, but how you learned to work with the proper tools and how you learned to advertise honestly using truth. Show me who you work with, because I know I can't do it alone.

Lead me to investigate you and what you are telling me and then, I MIGHT want to work with you.

  And remember, if you leave me alone too long, I will look for someone else to show me.   Tell me how I can get a hold of you if I am interested. Give me a way I can report you if you tell me a lie. Give me something to THINK about and use my brain.

THEN ASK ME if you can call me on the telephone.
  I am not stupid or lazy! I just don't know what I
need or what to do!

  As an internet marketing warrior, we are out to build a relationship with you and spend the time with you to let you see how we work and look at us inside and out. We WANT you to know and trust us.

 BUT--YOU HAVE TO MEET US HALF WAY! We can't do it for you! We don't walk behind you, because you can't lead (yet). We don't walk ahead of you because you may not follow.( You are not settled yet and have made that choice to be dedicated) We walk beside you as a friend. ( We will show you and explain to you what we have and what's in it for you) Also remember that we have a business to run as well and we can't wait forever for you.

  Is it time for you to make that move that works? You cried for truth and the proper way. Can you handle what you asked for?

Blogging for Profit Begins With a Long Term Plan

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology.

However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons.

Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn't easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blog rolls and high in blog search engines like Technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don't skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

There are even many tools right on your computer.   I mentioned some in my article about easing frustration.  One you can get off the internet and bookmark is 'Format-it'  You don't have to download anything or register, just use it and you can also Reformat-it as well.  It says to use it for your emails but I have used it for articles as well.
