For do-it-yourself fans ...
Save all of your photos, music, documents you've typed etc. on CDs,
DVDs, portable hard drives etc. I'm partial to external hard drives
and USB flash drives myself as I have found CDs and DVDs to be
rather fragile and unreliable ways to back stuff up.
The steps to do this are different
depending on which option you choose, the software you choose to use
to do that option etc. Each software program has wizards and/or
owners manuals to walk you through using it.
Get a Tech friend to take you through
these steps the first time. By backing up your important files,
photos, music etc and getting the last two off of your computer Hard
Drive, you will not only save valuable space for other things, you
will improve the speed of your computer. Though not particularly a
fast fix, it is sufficient for you to learn two important values -
back up of all files, which leads the list, and then the removal of
those other memory eaters you create by simply having all of them on
your hard drive.
