The excitement builds daily as we watch the membership in 21stCenturySurf grow by leaps and bounds.

If you have not joined it yet, why not? I love the look of those
dollar amounts building as rapidly as my new found down line.

Not wanting my super down line to miss out, I began a little touching base marketing. It is in my 'reminder' marketing that I got taught a pretty big lesson about the wonderful people I have as subscribers.

In the hustle and bustle of daily marketing routines, we often miss a very important message by over sight or by prejudgement. In either case, we tend to lose big time because of it.

Funny and not so funny how connections bring you into the lives of people you think simply forget - they have not - life is not exactly what they expected either - thus we become the least of their worries - until WE reconnect with them.

Life isn't all about being a focused on line marketer. There are real stories, real people, real lives in turmoil, in pain that you might never understand unless YOU are the one to reach out and connect.

If all these people are to you is a walking credit card, then I feel sorry for you. Move on quickly and suffer what you invite.

There are real diamonds out there that you can only find by a little caring. As you hear their stories, some times their pain, you hear parts of your life being replayed. This is where you can become a true touchstone. a friend and mentor that makes you truly a professional marketer, a trusted friend and successful in the game of life. There is no better pay for your time.

And now for the  rest of the story  ...

Read on and enjoy ...

Onwards and upwards ...

Think Logically - and No One Can Stop You

"I don't know enough to go out into the world on my own."
"Don't worry too much about the things you don't know. What
gets you into trouble are the things you know for sure that ain't
so!"

To get an idea of what Harry Lorayne explains about thinking
logically he starts with informing his readers that he doesn't
want to get into a 'technical treatise' about logic. Which as I
read, the words he would have to use and their definitions, it is
not what I want to get into either.

He explains that; 'Practical philosophy consists of two branches:
ethics and logic.
' If this really interests you then maybe you
should consider taking a college course if you haven't already.

Lorayne talks about the two branches of 'logic': epistemology -
(too big a word for me!). The definition being - the discussion of
the nature of truth and certain knowledge of truth; and
dialectics - 'consists of treating the correct ways of thinking in
order that we may reach truth.'

Dialectics consists of three main operations of the intellect:
(1). Simple Apprehension.
(2). Judgement.
(3). Reasoning.

(1). Simple Apprehension; understanding what something is-
'these are words on this page'.
(2). Judgement; is when you think- 'these are interesting
words'.

To reach a Judgement, you need two Simple Apprehensions. The
words on the page, plus the interesting words on the page. To
Reason, you need two Judgements. If your two Judgements allow
you a third Judgement or Conclusion, that is Reasoning.

These are interesting words. (First Judgement)
These words make me think. (Second Judgement)
This must be a good article. (Conclusion) (I can hope can't I?)

Harry Lorayne states, "Correct Thinking Will Never Fail You".
He realizes there are two kinds of 'Reasoning' -- Induction and
Deduction. He is dealing with 'Deduction' in his book and only a
small part of deduction. Because he feels Logic is an art and a
science and takes more study than he is writing about, he
suggests there are books on the subject if you are interested.

He is only interested in the Syllogism of Deduction, which
thankfully he explains is 'the expression of the act of deductive
reasoning'.
Which really just means, that I see this and this and
thus I come to a conclusion and then I also conclude or judge
this so I make a deduction.

We all do this every day and most of the time without even
actually thinking about what we are doing. There is a form of
thinking that concerns him in that sometimes it can lead us
astray.

Here is one example based on proof:
(1). All men are mortal.
(2). Socrates is a man.
(3). Therefore Socrates is mortal.

Lorayne says. "that conclusions are always formed of three
separate steps, although we usually tend to think of the first two
steps as one; and sometimes of all three as one."

The trouble is, if all three steps aren't used in a thought out way
then they can lead to a false conclusion. Your reasoning could
look fine but if you don't have all the facts then you can jump to
the wrong conclusion. Some examples he uses are:
1. Soups are always served hot.
2. Vichyssoise is a soup.
3. Therefore vichyssoise is always served hot. (Which is not true,
because that soup is served cold)

So we are prejudging because of the first statement. Most soups
are served hot but because the word 'always' was inferred then it
brings about a false conclusion.

Another example would be and this one annoys me:
1. All women are bad drivers.
2. Jane Jones is a woman.
3. Therefore Jane Jones is a bad driver.

So before making a statement or coming to a conclusion make
sure you know all your facts and are very familiar with your
subject. I believe there is a saying, "Loose lips sink ships" ,
which has more to do with giving away plans. The thing is,
'loose lips' can also destroy someone if it is a lie that is repeated
continuously. We never know what harm we are doing when we
make broad statements not backed up by the true facts.

Don't take things for granted. As Robert Lynd (writer, essayist)
has said, "It is easier to believe a lie that one has heard a
thousand times than to believe a fact that one has never heard
before."

The more something is repeated the more the tendency to
believe it, whether it is true or not. Continuously repeating
something is a good way to get people to remember what you
want them to remember, but make sure it is the truth.

To give you an idea about the rest of the chapter, I will leave
you with this riddle. Harry Lorayne believes there are many
ways to exercise your mind. He gives an example of a game that
he calls 'solvems'. One person sets a scene and others have to ask
questions that result in answers of, 'Yes', 'No', or 'Immaterial'.

The riddle: John is lying in bed and he is having difficulty falling
asleep. He goes to the phone, gets a number, says, "Hello, Joe,"
hangs up, and then goes back to bed, where he now falls asleep
without any difficulty.

Questions are asked until it is discovered that Joe is the reason
John can't sleep. The answer is: John is in a hotel room, and
can't sleep because the fellow in the next room is snoring too
loudly! He picks up the phone and asks to be connected to the
room next door. This stops the snoring because Joe has to wake
up and answer the phone. John says, "Hello Joe" just to say
something --- he doesn't know the man at all. Thus the riddle is
solved by people who are thinking and asking questions.

Article:     Seed  - The Wait

If you have never planted seeds in the past
you are in for a thrill. First there is a time
that one must wait.

On the surface, nothing seems to be happening.
Day one, day two, day three---- you add a little water
to keep the soil moist. Your eyes search diligently
for that first sign of life.

Anxiety sets in as the wait continues.
Here is the point where you are able to use this
time effectively. Through research one can gather
extra knowledge about the hope that was planted
a few days prior.

Google can be a good friend as well as other
search engines.

Another avenue worth looking into is the online
classroom. School? Well, yes... kinda. The difference
here is that it is -INTERACTIVE-.The sharing of your
hopes and expectations with those who have gone before
and are ready and willing to share their expertise
with you.

No, it is not a hype session where you are fed false
information about what someone else will do for
you. You will learn and discuss some
of the pitfalls ahead and you will be able to manoeuvre
around them. A tip here and a tweak there can be of
tremendous value ---IF YOU PARTICIPATE! You must
be able to follow direction and search information
out.

And unlike regular old classroom settings, you are
encouraged to share your findings. This breaks all the
stiff necked rules we learned as we grew up.

Here is the gathering of like minded folks who
will wait with you and keep you level headed so you
don't do anything rash--- like give up.

Information is your added fertilizer!

When you know what to expect, then your anxious days
disappear. Knowing that you are NOT alone is a huge
benefit! Someone has already been through what you
are experiencing now. Listen to the wisdom they have
acquired and use your search engines to back up
what you have learned.

It really is amazing what one can accomplish when
application is applied to the knowledge gained.

The cost factor here is T I M E. Don't spend this
wisely and the path away from monetary gain becomes
clouded and stunted.

How long will you spend before you seek the wisdom
to make that income you desire?

SEO CORNER -

Hi There New Subscriber

You have mail. It contains the news of a new subscriber. So what do you do with that information?

Hopefully you get off a welcome mail for starters.

Getting to know you ...

Customer profiles are a good habit to create for several reasons. Perhaps one of the main reasons a new person fails to connect with you is because you overlook the obvious when you send out your mails.

  • Are they young, middle aged or senior?

  • Are they primarily male or female?

  • Are they financially secure or budget-minded?

  • What gets him or her excited?

  • What are his or her most pressing concerns

If your new subscriber connects with you, then you will have little problem finding out such information during your conversations.

It is the silent Sam types out there that you will need to find ways to get around the silence so it talks back to you in feedback.

Age levels often denote experience both off line and on line. To be safe here, find out a little bit about what the senior members spent their lives doing.

Retired does not mean broke. Older does not equate with lack of knowledge or skills. Sometimes that I am not very familiar with computers etc . can be a way of testing you to find out what you really know.

The younger crowd have grown up with computers, like a third arm and a second brain. They are on fire with computer information and happy to share what they know.

It can be in talking about these areas with a connected subscriber that you will learn a lot about how to reach those that do not connect.

Sometimes direct questions can appear invasive whereas a cool easy conversation between two people getting to know one another can be an endless supply of valuable information.

A customer profile of Joe and Jean Blow showing age, job skills, family size and the dog that loves to blow bubbles, is a list of notes on file. It is what you will learn from a series of these profiles and what you do with that information, that will encourage your subscribers to connect with you.

TIPS & TRICKS

Proper Organizing of Files and Folders

Do a better job of organizing all those newly made files. Most people's computers are a real mess when it comes to where they are saved.

Save all photos in the photo folder. If you are using particular ones in a project, then create a notepad file with reference to that particular photo and where it is used. Until your project is done and ready for uploading to any site, then leave those photos where they need to be kept thus easier to find.

Save all documents in the document folder, downloaded songs or YouTube, software, applications and other items in their own folder in the right master folder that lets you find them when needed. Don't forget to back up or remove many of these folders to an external drive where they can do the least amount of damage to your computer.

Program files will always be kept on your main drive in their own folder by name as downloaded.

Whenever you do a download, and save it, do some web surfing to make doubly sure this new program, application or software is NOT causing a conflict that either slows your computer down or creates problems you need to be aware of. Compatibility is a major source of sluggish to blue screen happenings. By surfing around a bit, you will soon get the picture and be able to correct the fault.
